SenSage Named Leader in Japanese Market for SIEM and Log Management

Enterprise software leader SenSage, Inc. has earned the top spot in market share for security log management software in Japan, according to a report by Japanese market analysis firm ITR Corporation.  The study of nearly 30 vendors that compete in the security log management market in Japan shows SenSage with a dominant market share of 30.4 percent, nearly twice that of the nearest competitor. MySQL Hires The Brains Behind Firebird

MySQL has hired Jim Starkey, creator of the InterBase database, which later became the popular open-source Firebird database,in addition to scooping up Starkey's one-man Firebird-based company, Netfrastructure. Starkey posted a letter to the Firebird community advising them of the news on Feb. 18. In the letter, Starkey said that he will be working full-time for MySQL, perhaps occasionally contributing input to Firebird development, but no longer taking an active role.
